The JIS NW 4400 Coil is a popular choice amongst our buyers for several reasons, but key among them is that this alloy proves to be a cost saving alternative to commercially pure Nickel while offering properties similar to alloy grades Nickel 200 and Nickel 20. Since the Nickel 400 Monel Strip is a spark free material, the alloy can be used for highly perilous applications involving industries such as rocketry, explosives industry, and the pulp and paper industry. In addition to being highly ductile, the Monel 400 Plate has the ability to resist atmospheric corrosion along with its high mechanical property and good tensile strength. Also, the addition of about 30% copper in the alloy is what makes it not only resistant to seawater and steam at high temperatures but also to salt and caustic solutions as well.

Which is why the alloy can lend itself to applications such as heat exchanger piping, process vessels, and storage tanks of gasoline as well as potable water in the marine sector. In a de-aerated condition, the Monel 400 Perforated Sheet has the ability to resist acids like hydrochloric and hydrofluoric acid. Although, as one of the leading manufacturers we do not recommend using the ASTM B127 UNS N04400 Coil in either nitric acid or ammonia containing systems, as they attack the high content of copper.

Another remarkable property of the Alloy 400 Sheet is that it has the ability to resist chloride ion stress-induced corrosion cracking. Although in an annealed condition, the tensile strength of Monel Alloy 400 Plate is low, it could be increased by using various tempers.
