Being a solid solution strengthened material, Nickel 200 Plate is a commercially pure wrought product. A perk of using the JIS NW 2200 Plate is that the metal has excellent mechanical properties in addition to having high levels of resistance to corrosion. Nickel 200 Alloy Hot Rolled Plate is synonymous to being exceptionally resistant to caustic alkalis. This is true even when the alloy for nickel 200 has been exposed to these chemicals at different concentrations and temperatures. However, the corrosion resistance properties of the 2.4066 Nickel Foil tends to be far better in acids that have been de-aerated.

It is important to note that at elevated temperature settings, Nickel 200 products such as the Nickel 200 Alloy Coil are susceptible to suffer from graphitization. Graphitization in this nickel based alloy could result in severely compromised properties in terms of its tensile strength and corrosion resistance.
In addition to these properties, the alloy used in the manufacture of ASTM B162 UNS N02200 Strip has a lower gas content and vapour pressure, while having a higher thermal and electrical conductivities. Alloy 200 Sheet is typically limited to those applications where the temperatures remain below a range of 600° F.
