904l Stainless Steel Reducer is a super austenitic alloy grade that has been designed for applications where the primary requirement is moderate to high corrosion resistance in process based environments. The combination of high chromium together with nickel content, coupled with additions of elements molybdenum and copper in the 904l Stainless Steel Tee, is what makes the alloy offer good to excellent resistance to corrosion.

With its highly alloyed chemistry ie. about 25% nickel and the addition of 4.5% molybdenum, 904l Stainless Steel Elbow provides good chloride ion stress related corrosion cracking resistance, pitting and general corrosion resistance. In fact, the corrosion resistance property of the SS 904L Elbow is far more superior in comparison to 316L and 317L molybdenum enhanced stainless steels.
The ASTM B366 is a specification that covers welded grade 904l Stainless Steel Fittings, where the term welding applies to either butt-welding or socket-welding parts for e.g, the very popularly used elbows in addition to bends, caps, tees, lap-joint, reducers, and stub ends. These fittings, in this case, the ASTM B366 UNS N08904 Reducing Stub end could be formed by conducting a combination of operations such as bending, extruding, hammering, pressing, piercing, upsetting, rolling, or fusion welding. Moreover, a Chemical and product analysis performed on the Stainless Steel 904l Pipe Fittings must conform to the chemical composition as specified by the ASTM B366.
