Similar to nickel based grade alloy 200, grade Nickel 201 round bar, too is referred to as commercially pure wrought nickel. Despite the fact that Alloy 201 Rod has properties which make it just like alloy 200, however, the distinction between both these alloy grades is with regards to the content of carbon. The content of carbon used to alloy the material used to make these bars is far lower i.e. a max of 0.02%. The lower carbon content present in the Pure Nickel 201 Flat bar is what aids the alloy in terms of the prevention of embrittlement.

Typically embrittlement is caused by inter-granular carbon on exposure to conditions where the temperatures are often elevated or they could be caused by welding. The ASTM B160 Nickel 201 Hex Bar produced in our factory conforms to the ASTM B160 specification. The low carbon nickel alloy ie. UNS N02201 or referred to as Alloy 201 is available in various forms such as round, square, hexagonal, or rectangular solid section.
The furnishing of these UNS N02201 Nickel Bright Bar could be by any one of the following processes i.e hot working, cold working, or annealed rods and bars. The Alloy 201 Round Bar is used in those times when alloy grade 200 experiences shortcoming, i.e. being used at elevated temperatures. Since these Nickel Alloy 201 Rods are not susceptible to graphitization, they tend to be well suited for applications that use higher temperature settings.
