Also referred to as by its trade name Grade 8 Al 1Mo 1V, the Ti gr 8 Pipe is what is known as a near alpha alloy. Unlike most titanium grades which are heat treated, a near alpha alloy cannot be manoeuvred by heat treating it. This is because the alloy of a near alpha type metal, in this case, Titanium Grade 8 Pipe does not undergo any significant phase change.

Ti gr 8 Pipe
Therefore a high tensile strength cannot be achieved by heat treating. However, being a near alpha alloy, the Titanium Gr.8 Hexagonal Pipe could be stress relieved as well as annealed. That being noted, grade 8 alloys have similar properties to its other titanium grade counterparts. For instance, the Gr 8 Titanium Hot Finished Pipe has excellent creep resistance, which is why these pipes can be used at temperatures, where the operations can be exposed to heat as high as up to 455°C.
Aside from having medium to high strength the Titanium gr 8 Seamless Pipe, has good elevated temperature tensile properties. Parallel to the other titanium alloys, the Titanium Gr 8 Annealed Pipe also has properties like a high modulus along with being a low density alloy. The Titanium Gr.8 Welded Pipe inherits titanium’s higher melting point properties.
