Amongst all the grades of titanium alloys, Grade 2 and Titanium Grade 5 Seamless Tube are reckoned to be the most popular ones across all the markets. Grade 5 is much stronger in compared to the other commercially pure grades i.e grade 1 - 4. Segregated as an alpha-beta alloy, the UNS R56400 Titanium Polished Bars has similar same stiffness and thermal properties like it’s preceding commercially pure titanium grades.

An alpha-beta alloy, for instance, Titanium grade 5 Bar and ASTM B338 Titanium Gr 5 Tube is a two-phase alloy. This is because the alloy encompasses both an alpha phase as well as a beta phase at room temperature. In the case of an alpha-beta alloy like Titanium Gr 5 Rod, large microstructural modifications could be achieved by either working or heat treating these alloys either below or above the alpha-beta transition temperature.
Titanium Grade 5 Tube
For instance, the modification brought about in the microstructure of the Ti Grade 5 Flat bar, would mean substantial hardening of the alloy. In order to produce maximum or to optimise the tensile strength properties of Grade 5 Ti. Alloy Black Bar, a combination of Solution treatment along with ageing could be used. Likewise, stress-relief heat treatment could also be practised on titanium Alloy Grade 5 Flat Bar.
