The distinguishing feature of the Hastelloy Alloy B3 Tubing is its ability to maintain excellent ductile properties even during transient exposures to intermediate temperature settings, which are experienced consistently during heat treatments accompanying any fabrication process. The Thermal stability of Alloy B3 Seamless Tubing tends to be far superior in comparison to alloy B-2 tubes. Additionally, the Hastelloy B3 Tubing exhibits excellent resistance to both knife line along with heat affected zone attack as well.
The Hastelloy B2 tube offers a significant level of resistance to reducing conditions, especially when these environments contain corrosive compounds such as hydrogen chloride, sulfuric, acetic and phosphoric acids. Similar to Alloy B3, the Alloy B2 Tube is very resistant to hydrochloric acid at all concentrations and across varying temperatures. This nickel based Alloy B2 Tube could be used in an as welded condition due to its resistance to the formation of grain boundary carbide precipitates, which occurs during welding in the weld heat-affected zone.
