Aside from having good creep resistance and oxidation resistance, the Inconel 601 Fittings are known to have good mechanical properties even at elevated temperature settings. In fact, the alloy used in the manufacture of Inconel 601 Stub End tends to exhibit higher mechanical properties, in comparison to Inconel 600. This is because of the addition of aluminium in the alloy of this grade, which in turn enhances its properties.

Thereby making the Inconel 601 pipe fittings, a very commercially viable option for applications involving industries such as Heat Treating Equipment, Petrochemical Processing, Industrial Furnaces as well as for use in Gas Turbine Components. Along with Incoloy 601, the following trade names can be used for Alloy 601i.e. Nicrofer 6023, Nicrimphy 601, and Pyromet 601. Other important properties of the commonly used Inconel UNS N06601 Elbow includes ability to withstand a high mechanical strength along with excellent carburization properties as well as good resistance to corrosion, especially in aqueous media.
Since the material can be readily formed the Alloy 601 Elbow can be customized to any angle apart from the usually manufactured 45 or 90 degrees and the rarely used 22.5 degree ones. One key feature to be highlighted about the Alloy 601 Reducer is that by the addition of both chromium and aluminium in its alloy, the metal proves to have good resistance to oxidative sulfur bearing environments. In fact, this property is useful even when the Inconel 601 Tee is used for elevated temperature applications.
